New Digital Repeater

GB3DP in Baston now has a sister repeater GB7SL which is currently in testing. It will support all digital modes – DMR, D-Star, Fusion DV, NXDN and P25.

Output Frequency: 430.2625Mhz
Input Frequency: 439.2625Mhz
DMR Colour Code 8

Important – as this is linked to the DCS102 gateway you need to leave a 4 second gap between overs to avoid confusing the links!

Give it a try!

GB3SA now on Echolink

GB3SA is now connected full-time to EchoLink, meaning that you can now access the repeater when you are outside the coverage area. Just add GB3SA-R to your lists of favourites in the App.

EchoLink is easy to use and works on phones, tablets and PCs. You just need to register with EchoLink (they will ask to see a copy of your licence as you will be able to transmit from the repeater) and is completely free?

Grounding

The next net on GB3SA will be on Tuesday 15 June at 7:30pm. This week’s topic will be ‘Grounding and Bonding – pros and cons’. Most kit has a screw at the back for grounding. Should you use it or not? Does it actually make a difference, and are there any downsides?
